Raymang Eggs: Automated Carton Box Removal System
ESG-funded robotic carton removal system for egg distribution, a 1,000%+ efficiency gain using two 6-axis industrial robotic arms.
Designed and implemented a fully customised carton box removal system for Raymang Eggs' egg distribution operations, developed as part of an Enterprise Singapore (ESG)-funded initiative supporting SME digitalisation and mechanisation. Two 6-axis industrial robotic arms pick and place carton boxes into an automated cutting machine, with a further robotic arm removing and disposing of cut cartons, achieving an efficiency increase of over 1,000% while significantly reducing dependency on manual labour and improving workplace safety.
Raymang Eggs' egg distribution operation depended on manual handling and removal of carton boxes, a labour-intensive, physically demanding process that limited throughput and carried workplace safety risk, with no existing off-the-shelf solution suited to egg distribution specifically.
Designed a fully customised system as part of an ESG-funded SME digitalisation and mechanisation initiative. Deployed two 6-axis industrial robotic arms to pick up and place carton boxes into an automated cutting machine, with an additional robotic arm removing and disposing of the cut cartons, mechanising the full handling sequence end to end.
Operational efficiency increased by more than 1,000%, manual labour dependency and workplace injury risk significantly reduced, and the fully mechanised workflow established as a model for ESG-supported SME automation in egg distribution and comparable processes.
A 1,000%+ efficiency gain came from automating one narrow, repetitive, injury-prone task, not from a broad "digital transformation" initiative. The ESG funding model exists precisely for this: identify the single most labour-intensive, lowest-value-add manual process in your operation, and it is very often the best candidate for the highest-ROI automation investment.

Stand next to the manual process this replaced, workers repeatedly lifting and cutting carton after carton, and the 1,000% efficiency number stops being abstract. Getting the ESG funding meant proving this wasn't a nice-to-have automation project but a genuine workplace safety fix, and two industrial arms doing that lifting now is the actual difference. I like that this project made someone's workday safer.
