Islamic Civilisation Village, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah

Al-Madinah's Islamic Civilisation Village needed a security framework for a 1.4 sqkm single land plot that connects directly with Al Masjid Al Nabawi. The mixed-use area combines a museum, retail, entertainment, food and beverage, landscape, a bus terminal hub and parking. There was no comparable precedent in the city, and no margin for compromising visitor or resident safety.

Led as Security Lead, applying a security-by-design framework in five stages. The first was threat identification, covering potential risks to visitors, residents and infrastructure. A systematic security risk assessment then checked vulnerabilities across all facility types. A detailed site assessment looked at the physical layout and access points. Full mitigation strategies followed. Finally, security was built into architectural and operational planning from the concept stage.

The first Islamic Civilisation Village in Al-Madinah was delivered with a full security framework integrated with Al Masjid Al Nabawi. One site-wide plan covers the full mix of museum, retail, entertainment and transport facilities.
