PSA Marine: Hydroponics AI Monitoring & Optimal Harvesting

AI-based optimal harvesting and remote sensory monitoring for PSA Marine's sustainable hydroponics farming initiative.

Selected as technology partner to deliver a complete remote hydroponics monitoring and sensing solution for PSA Marine's hydroponics project, part of the PSA sustainability movement. The system features one of the industry's first AI-based harvesting alert systems, matching LUX readings against plant type, water quality, and nutrient levels to signal optimal harvest timing. Data is collected and monitored through a customised mobile application with live video feeds overlooking plant growth stages across each plot.

The Challenge

PSA Marine's hydroponics sustainability initiative needed a monitoring system that could tell growers not just what conditions were, but when conditions indicated the optimal moment to harvest, a genuinely predictive capability, not just a dashboard of raw sensor readings.

The Approach

Built an AI-based harvesting alert system correlating LUX readings against plant type, water quality, and nutrient levels to identify optimal harvest windows. Delivered the monitoring through a customised mobile application with live video feeds of each plot, overlaying growth-stage visuals with the underlying sensor data.

The Outcome

One of the industry's first AI-based hydroponics harvesting alert systems delivered for PSA Marine, giving growers a predictive, multi-signal view of harvest readiness in support of PSA's broader sustainability movement.
