AI Verify is Singapore’s own framework and open-source toolkit for testing AI systems, built by IMDA and now stewarded by the AI Verify Foundation. Rather than inventing a new standard, it operationalises internationally recognised AI governance principles — fairness, explainability, robustness, safety — into a set of technical tests an organisation can actually run against a model or system before it ships.
It matters because most companies evaluating an AI system have no independent way to check a vendor’s claims. AI Verify gives them one: a structured process for validating that a system behaves the way it is supposed to, producing results that can be shown to a regulator, a board, or a customer as evidence rather than assurance.
For Singapore businesses building an internal evaluation framework, AI Verify’s principles are the sensible starting checklist to build test cases against, rather than importing a generic framework written for a different regulatory environment.
